Marseille soap has been produced in the region of Marseille for the past 600 years through artisanal methods. Known for its high level of purity and versatility it is used in France to wash sensitive skin, hair, replacing shampoo, as a shaving foam, make-up remover, laundry and even as a natural toothpaste. It is plant-based, made mainly through the saponification process of olive oil (sodium olivate) and coconut oil (sodium cocoate).
